29/9/20 - updated with Battersea opening date
The lockdown obviously paused many plans to open new restaurants in London but we're pleased to see that many are moving full steam ahead with plans to open in our post-lockdown world.
And one of those brand new developments and one of those is The Tapas Room. They already had two restaurants - in Deptford and Tooting - but they followed that up with now they have plans for not one, but two new sites.
First up is Brixton Village, which launched in July. They actually started out in Brixton under the name of the Donostia Social Club in Pop Brixton, and now they've returned with a slightly larger space inside the village. There, "nibbles" (salt cod croquetas, pan con tomate) sit alongside sharing tapas like "Confit Fennel with Pickled Figs & Asturian Blue Cheese" and "Seared Scallop, Pisto, Green Chili Sauce & Almonds". They'll also have weekend Spanish brunches.
Next up is Battersea, where they'll have a Tapas Room inside the new Battersea Spanish school. So there you'll be able to learn the language and then immediately put your studies to the test by trying to order something at the bar. That sounds like a proper exam to us.
This new venue will also add wine tasting, jamon carving, food & wine pairing, cookery classes and more with new events and classes daily.
