Oisin Rogers takes over at The Guinea Grill in Mayfair

ines

If you've been wondering where Oisin Rogers, London pub manager extraordinaire and key member of our Murphia list, was going to pop up next, then let us enlighten you. Rogers, who ran The Ship in Wandsworth for ages and then last year helped Young's relaunch The Canonbury in Islington, has moved to another Young's pub. He'll be taking over The Guinea Grill in Mayfair.

Rogers has some big shoes to fill - Carl and Pauline Smith, who have now retired, ran the pub for 28 years. "I couldn't be more happy," he says of his new home. As for the pub's legendary British food - and their championship-winning steak and kidney pie - there are no plans to change that for the moment.

The Guinea Grill is at 30 Bruton Place, London W1J 6NL. Keep up with their news on Twitter @GuineaGrill
