Just across the road from Pollen St Social, Jason Atherton is opening up his first of two new restaurants this year. Little Social at 5 Pollen Street opens on Monday 18 March. It'll be a French bistro Mayfair-stylee priced at around £22-£30 a head for lunch or dinner from a prix fixe menu with daily specials.
Sample dishes might be slow cooked egg to start with parmesan and squash soup, roast mushrooms and croutons and maybe a roasted gurnard for mains with saffron mash, fennel and Cornish Coup. For pudding we rather like the sound of the goats milk rice pudding with rhubarb and ginger jam, and jam ripple ice-cream.
Interiors-wise, you should expect to feel as if you're somewhere in Montparnasse - so there'll be ox-blood coloured banquettes, hardwood chairs and vintage picture frames.
There's a short-ish European-focused wine list with glasses starting at £6 (or Normandy cider at £5) and plenty under the £30 barrier.
Little Social opens on Monday 18 March at 5 Pollen Street, London W1S 1NQ. Reservations are now open - to book call 0207 870 3730
