"As tender as it is flavoursome, as compliant to falling apart as it is beguiling for another bite, it’s difficult to imagine much improving Hawksmoor’s steaks. Difficult, that is, until you try the anchovy hollandaise – a golden salted elixir for which you could easily skip dessert and consume whole in its place." READ REVIEW

"Hawksmoor is the roast beef of England. Not terribly comfortable or attractive, but decent, functional and OK — if you don’t have high expectations and can bring a lot of nostalgic fantasy about yourself and John Bull’s arse to the table." READ REVIEW

"Rare breed is no guarantee of quality. Nor is long ageing. But the Hawksmoor boys are obsessed with beef. They found the right farmer, then opened their first restaurant. Not the other way around. If I crave steak, I come to Hawksmoor. It’s as simple as that. Cheap, it ain’t, but great meat never is." READ REVIEW

"The non-seafood dishes were just as memorable though: from a rich, gooey mac ’n’ cheese, to a beautifully chargrilled rib-eye steak, a deliciously light Caesar salad, or the ‘Ferrero Rocher’ – an indulgent tennis ball-sized pud with dark chocolate ganache, three kinds of hazelnut (mousse, ice cream and brittle) and a spot of gold leaf. Oh, Hawksmoor, you really are spoiling us." READ REVIEW
