Fans of the Discount Suit Company on Petticoat Lane Market should look out for The Sun Tavern, opening on Bethnal Green Road this Autumn.
The drinks list will feature a decent cocktail selection as well as an impressive choice of Irish whiskies and Poitin. There'll also be a special menu of punches, with recipes dating back to the 18th Century and a weekly changing ‘Local Hero’ fine ales, sourced from microbreweries within a two mile radius.
Open all day, the pub will serve up pastries and freshly brewed coffees from Bethnal Green’s Square Mile roastery in the morning, as well as bar snacks throughout the day. Food-wise, they'll be offering "deluxe pub grub" - pork pies, scotch eggs, deluxe grilled sandwiches and toasties, using breads sourced from local east London bakeries and cheeses from Neal’s Yard.
The Sun Tavern opens on 2 October 2014 at 441 Bethnal Green Road, London E2 0AN. Opening hours will be seven days a week from early morning until 1am.
