Residents of Kensington and Chelsea will no longer have to bother having to head across town to East London if club owner Piers Adam has his way.
Adam (Whisky Mist and Mahiki) has teamed up with Kurobuta's Scott Hallsworth to open Ramusake to bring "the underground speakeasy vibe of New York's East Village" to a basement restaurant and bar on the Old Brompton Road.
Basing the food on the izakaya menu that's going great guns at Hallsworth's Kurobuta, you'll find beef fillet tataki with onion ponzu and garlic crisps as well as kombu roasted Chilean seabass with spicy shiso ponzu.
"I had a back catalogue of dishes that needed a home like this," says scott. "When we unleash them with a touch of the Piers Adam magic there's going to be some seriously unprecedented late night action going on."
As for drinks expect a large selection of premium rums and lots of cocktails.
Says Piers: "I'm so excited about this concept....finally a place in the Royal Borough that has a touch of Soho and Shoreditch."
Ramusake is now open at 92B Old Brompton Road, London SW7 5LF. Tel 0207 842 8518. Opening hours are 6pm to late.
