Ben's Canteen heads for Earlsfield

Ben's Canteen heads for EarlsfieldBen's Canteen has been a big hit in Battersea, not least because of its Scotch Eggs and the sausage rolls which recently came top in the 2014 Sausage roll-off.

Now they're heading further south as a second Ben's Canteen prepares to open the doors in Earlsfield.

What you need to know about Ben's Canteen

It'll have an old-school feel. Literally because the bar is made from a mix of old school desks and doors salvaged from Cornwall.

The menu's the same as the Battersea branch. So you can expect pulled pork baps, buttermilk chicken burgers, chicken and parmesan schnitzel, Asian pork broth and lots more. There will be a weekend brunch which adds plenty of egg dishes a soft shell crab burger and more.

There will, of course, also be Scotch eggs. And they will also have the Evening Standard top-rated best sweet potato chips, brunches and small plates. Alongside this, you'll find their "epic Bloody Marys" among more cocktails, craft beers and a wine list with wines from Greece and Croatia.

There will be a launch offer too. Any diners in the first month and the first 100 people to order a drink during usual happy hours will get a free drink.

Where is it? 422 Garratt Lane, Earlsfield, London, SW18 4HW

When does it open? 15 May 2014
