If you're spending this Valentine's Day at home, you can still make it a special occasion (with a little help). Here are the London restaurants who are putting together special boxes for 14 February. (This page is updated regularly - newest additions are at the top of each section).
A Cook's Tour with Anna Haugh - The new season of virtual cookalong company A Cook’s Tour 2022 includes A Food Lover’s Night in Paris with Anna Haugh on 10 & 11 February. It's £85 for two and takes an hour to put together. You'll learn to make an amuse-bouche of potato and truffle velouté, salmon two ways with pink peppercorns and pickled vegetables plus a classic beef wellington with pomme purée followed by a delicate macaron with Calamansi lemon mousse and fresh blueberries.
Made in Oldstead - Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks has designed a six-course Valentine’s Day feast of Yorkshire’s finest foraged foods from his family farm. There are three menus to choose from, whether you are vegetarian (£125), pescatarian (£145) or a meat-lover (£155). To get you in the mood, each of the three menus start with a snack of cep sable topped with pickled walnut and black truffle puree and finishes with a dessert of Jerusalem artichoke and chocolate crémeux. They’ve also taken care of the drinks side of things, if you want the optional pairing from their new premium canned wine company, Banks Brothers. Orders are open until 12 February.
Hawksmoor - Sit up, meat lovers, there’s not one but two cook-at-home feast boxes to choose from here, whether you fancy chateaubriand (£95/£125 with blood orange gimlet and Real Rioja Agrado) or centre-cut rump steaks (£130/£155 with Champagne) for two. Each box also comes with Old Spot belly ribs, side dishes, and a chocolate fondant with clotted cream. Deliveries are available 10–12 and 17–19 February, and orders must be placed by 9am Monday for that week’s delivery. Oh, and there are videos on the Hawksmoor website if you need any cooking tips/nervous about your date-night kitchen skills.
