Baker Claire trained as a wedding cake designer at Jane Asher and created her first edible Flour Pot as a gift for a friend. She normally trades at the Duke of York Square in Chelsea but is now delivering items like wonderful sugar crafted lemon trees (pictured) and seedling brownies.

Bread AheadBread Ahead

Borough - Borough Market, Cathedral St, London SE1 9DE

One of the oldest of London’s new-wave bakers when it first opened in Borough Market, Bread Ahead is also ahead on the delivery game. You can order a sourdough selection, brioche buns, croissants and ginger cake as well as bake-at-home cookie dough. There's also a baker's kit which will give you everything you need to get going (as well as lots of flours you can buy individually).

The Bread StationThe Bread Station

Hackney - 373 Helmsley Pl, London E8 3SB

The Bread Station has two top chefs behind it - you may remember Christoffer Hruskova from his Michelin-starred Clerkenwell restaurant North Road. He teamed up with leading Danish baker Per Brun to open this Danish bakery in London Fields. Order Danish Rye or maybe Hackney seeded loaves along with the marvellously named Hindbaersnitter - raspberry shortcake slices.

Chin ChinChin Chin

Soho & Camden

Chin Chin may have made their name from their experience of making ice-cream in front of you using liquid nitrogen, but they’ve also got plenty they can deliver. There are ice cream pies, cherry pies, brownies, cookies and more. And because they freeze with nitrogen, they can even delivery their ice cream by post!

Baking sisters Annabel and Emily are behind this bakery which aims to use “just as much [fat and sugar] as needed to make something delicious." They were particularly well known pre-lockdown for their afternoon teas and the good news is you can now get these delivered to your door (with brownies, scones and clotted cream etc) along with their fabulous cake truffles and brownies.

London Fields

E5 Bakehouse are one of London's premier sourdough providers and you'll find them in many a restaurant too. Online, you can find all their loaves from the country bread Hackney Wild to the rye breads and various buns. Pastries and cakes are on offer too, as is a whole range of home bakery staples from flour to a dutch oven and banneton.

Surbiton - Red Lion Business Centre, Red Lion Road, Surbiton, Surrey KT6 7QD

Founded in Wimbledon, but now based in Surrey, this bakery, which normally supplies gorgeous bread to The Ritz and the House of Lords, now delivers to a good swathe of South West and West London. You can order a-la-carte, but they also put together boxes of artisan breads, traditional bread and also a lovely looking breakfast box with both bread and pastries.

This Tooting offshoot was started by two former founders of M1LK and has all manner of interesting twists on bakery classics to make you want to order. There's fresh cornbread, grilled Pumpkin bread with toasted cocoa nib praline & spent coffee butter or how about sourdough toast with white chocolate, miso & pecan “nutzilla”?

Being stuck at home makes a delivery of Kova’s Japanese mille crêpes cakes all the more welcome - and there are matcha, durian and earl grey among the flavours to choose from along with lava cakes, matcha tarts and more.

Lovely BunsLovely Buns

Lovely Buns started out as a stall in Brick Lane where baker Alice first introduced Londoners to her plant-based cupcakes. Her London delivery service sends out cake blocks like pecan and chocolate and chai spiced rye as well as bun selections and miniature birthday cakes - perfect for anyone celebrating in isolation.

Bloomsbury - 57 Warren St, London W1T 5NR

Owner and chef Shaheen Peerbhai trained up at Le Cordon Bleu and the Centre de Formation d'Alain Ducasse and won two prestigious The James Beard Foundation scholarships before opening her bakery on Warren Street. Delivery includes a range of bread, cookies and viennoiserie - we can highly recommend the pistachio financiers and double chocolate Valrhona cookies.

This Greenwich-based artisan bakery (owner Paul used to be Head Chef at the two-Michelin starred restaurant Chez Nico) normally supplies top hotels and restaurants but is now delivering to lucky Londoners. Items include a basics box with tin loaves, baps and baguettes and a breakfast box which features bagels, muffins and pastries.

Insta-favourite bakers Pophams are delivering everything from their artisan pasta to breads, pastries and a biscuit selection, if you’re lucky to live close to their bakeries.
