It's cold outside and we're stuck indoors. Yes, it's definitely pie weather. Here's how to get some pastry masterpieces sent to you (or where you can go in London to pick one up).
Milk Beach
19-21 Lonsdale Rd, Queen's Park, London NW6 6RA
Milk Beach created a special menu during the latest lockdown, with three new pies on offer. They are Ham hock, leek and creme fraiche pie, Vietnamese fish curry pie (we very much like the sound of that one) and Winter mushroom, potato, Beenleigh blue cheese pie. We were impressed with a recent visit, so these pies should definitely be on your radar.
Delivery/Collection info: Circa 3-5 km from the restaurant
Quality Chop House
88-94 Farringdon Rd, Farringdon, London EC1R 3EA
The Quality Chop House is famed for its pork pie (something we personally can't get enough of) but sharing pies have always been available in their shop - and available for delivery. The pies change regularly with recent versions including chicken and leek pie, steak, ale and stilton pie and leek, cheddar and mushroom pie (with fish and cottage pies available). Each serves two to three people and we've never been disappointed by a QCH pie.
Delivery/Collection info: Collection or delivery up to 10km from Farringdon
Quo Vadis
26-29 Dean St, Soho, London W1D 3LL
Jeremy Lee's pies are legendary. The menu at Quo Vadis has always had a weekly changing pie on the menu and they're well worth crossing town for. And now they'll cross town to you - as they form part of the new Quo Vadis delivery box. Changing weekly, a pie will always be an option as a main with turkey and bacon pie available at the time of writing.
Delivery/Collection info: Delivery about 5km from the restaurant in Soho
Levan
12-16 Blenheim Grove, Peckham, London SE15 4QL
Levan's potato mushroom and vacherin pie is one of London's very best pies hands-down (as we recently discovered), so knowing they can deliver it to you is a godsend. The pie is often part of the vegetarian meal, but you can also buy it as an add-on to their monthly meal - something you should absolutely do. There's also more pie action going on at sister restaurant Salon in Brixton, which has a Braised venison & potato pie on the menu at the time of writing.
Delivery/Collection info: Collection and about 5km delivery distance from Peckham
Parlour
5 Regent St, Kensal Green, London NW10 5LG
Jesse Dunford Wood's Cow Pie has been an institution at the Kensal Rise restaurant from the beginning and is a must-have when you visit. Now the pie is available as part of the Parlour Marketplace - as a traditional steak and ale pie with a suet pastry crust. This pie is already frozen which will be extremely handy to store for a later pie craving.
Delivery/Collection info: Collection only
The Marksman
254 Hackney Rd, London E2 7SJ
The Marksman pies are yet more legendary pies to seek out in London. The Hackney pub often has a pie on the menu when you're eating-in and their at-home selection is a pie lover's dream. Right now, multiple pies are available including a braised beef and winter truffle pie, a braised mushroom and Jerusalem artichoke pie and a chicken and girolle pie. We'd like them all, please. On a side note, their filled buns - the beef and barley are amazing - are something you should also add to your order.
Delivery/Collection info: Collection only
St John
26 St John St, Barbican, London EC1M 4AY
Introduced during the latest lockdown - but we're really hoping they continue - St John have been creating a new delivery pie every week. Past pies have included Pheasant and Trotter pie and a Pig & Potato pie - with a Spinach and Graceburn Pie on offer now. We particularly love the detailed descriptions with each pie, which indicates that the latest is from a "recipe entrusted to our Sous Chef Paris by his grandmother" and describes the cheese as "ready to slowly ooze from its pastry casing when the knife (or spoon) strikes". Just reading the descriptions will make you need the pie.

The Clarence Tavern
102 Stoke Newington Church St, Stoke Newington, London N16 0LA
This is the latest opening from the people behind the Anchor & Hope and The Canton Arms. On the heat at home menu is an Ox Cheek & Ale pie but we also rather fancy their pithivier - with layers of dauphinoise potatoes, mushrooms and Tunworth cheese.
Delivery/Collection info: Collection or circa 2.5km delivery from Stoke Newington
Willie's Pies
This is a new addition to London - a delivery-only pie shop created by Will Lewis who has worked in the kitchens at Brat, St. John Bread and Wine and Rochelle Canteen. His pies range from traditional to riffs on classics, like a spiced chicken and potato pie flavoured with cumin, fennel and fenugreek. He also sells a nice line in desserts too including treacle and Bakewell tarts.
Delivery/Collection info: Delivers across London
