Tell us about Amazing Grace
There's a massive amount of competition when it comes to going out in London. But with so much on offer it can be oddly hard to find somewhere that really stands out. Luckily we've recently discovered Amazing Grace, a live music venue in London Bridge that offers an amazing evening's food and entertainment. If you're always the one who books a night out for friends (or fancy somewhere different for a hot date) booking this will earn you serious kudos. Whether you're looking for a great date idea or somewhere to catch up with your friends, Amazing Grace hits the mark.
And it's in a Grade II building?
You'll find the venue right beside The Shard, Borough Market, and London Bridge Station in the jaw-dropping space that is the historic Grade II listed St. Thomas Church (it actually dates all the way back to 1192!). Turns out the space inside a former church is pretty much perfect for showcasing live music and other performances.
Where should we sit?
On the lower level, you'll find the main bar with a performance stage and dance floor. Head to the upper mezzanine if you want a great view of the main space below, as well as your own dedicated bar.
So what's in their showtime package?
The new Showtime packages at Amazing Grace offer dinner and a show for just £22.50, making it an absolute bargain in our books.
Start with Japanese fried chicken with house pickles & gochujang mayonnaise, corn ribs with gochujang mayonnaise, chilli, & lime or padron peppers with smoked salt. There are two meaty mains - beef skewers & jasmine rice with pickled vegetables and pork belly & chorizo with Korean potato bites and kimchi - as well as a vegan option of tofu bao & sweet potato fries with charred broccoli and black garlic. For dessert, it's a doughnut tossed in spiced sugar.
When you're adding on drinks, there's a thoughtfully curated menu with everything from their own-label beer to wine, cocktails and plenty of non-alcoholic options.
What about the entertainment?
Their live music programme features party bands, up-and-coming uk talent, burlesque and cabaret evenings as well as karaoke accompanied by a full gospel choir, and live music bottomless brunches.
So, if you fancy a night out in London that's a lot of fun (and doesn't break the bank) Amazing Grace should be firmly on your to-try list.
