They've already won a fanbase at Bang Bang Oriental Foodhall and at their first London restaurant in Covent Garden, now XI home are expanding to the City. If you haven't tried them before they are all about the dumplings. There are over 20 options on the menu along with various salads, BBQ skewers and noodle dishes.
The real USP for them (and one that's gone viral) is their supersize xiao long bao, a soup dumping so big that you need to sip the soup out using a straw before eating.
Other dumplings include Jade Lobster, abalone, sea cucumber and courgette, egg and prawn dumplings. There's also a whole section devoted to pork dumplings.
As for drinks they offer a special tea pairing to go with the dumplings alongside cocktails like the Lychee Gimlet and a Brandy & Osmanthus. There will also be Cobra, Asahi and Sapporo beers on offer.
Owner Wenjun Xiang says, “We are delighted to have secured such a prestigious location for our third and flagship XI home, it was a dream of mine since graduating from Imperial College Business School. The restaurant is very dear to me, as it is completely inspired by my hometown, Dalian."
