Updated 13/8/24 with the new opening date
A few weeks back, super viral bagel bakery It's Bagels put a post up on Instagram looking for staff. "We are expanding," they said. Thanks to a Hot Dinners reader, we discovered that they were coming to Notting Hill. Since then we've found out more about what this new location is bringing.
They've picked the site that used to belong to Rika Moon on the corner of Westbourne Grove and Kensington Park Road. It's a good corner space with outside seating and more room inside than the original Primrose Hill bakery.
The bakery's New York-style offering right now includes a long list of bagel options including schmear and lox, whitefish salad, bacon egg and cheese and PB&J. You can also get schmears by the tub to take away, along with tubs of salads. All that will be on offer at the Notting Hill branch when it opens.
The new bakery/cafe will also feature sandwiches that have previously run as limited editions in Primrose Hill on their permanent menu. Those will include The Salt Beef Bagel (pulled salt beef, French’s mustard, house pickles, shaved red onion, kewpie mayo, melted Swiss cheese) and The Grinder (mortadella, salami, turkey, provolone, spicy iceberg slaw).
It's going to be a huge hit - prepare for queues.
