Mayfair's Chancery Rosewood is lining up Le Caprice and Carbone as its restaurants

Mayfair's Chancery Rosewood is lining up Le Caprice and Corbone as its restaurants

The new Chancery Rosewood hotel in Mayfair is a pretty huge endeavour, taking over the space of the old US Embassy (and retaining the Brutalist look). We've been wondering what they're going to do for restaurants, given that they have to compete with a fair few high-end hotels opening of late, and it seems they're going big.

Mere days after it was revealed he's putting the Ivy group up for sale, commercial real estate company CoStar has revealed that Richard Caring is looking to re-open Le Caprice inside the new hotel. The last version of Le Caprice closed in 2020 and there's a lot of buzz about Jeremy King opening a version of the classic Le Caprice in that location in all but name. So it will be interesting to see what Caring has planned for the revival.

Not only that, but there are also plans for New York big hitter Carbone restaurant to open at The Chancery Rosewood too.

It's an interesting move by the hotel, and CoStar reports the openings as very much being at the "in talks" stage - so we'll have to see how all this develops over the coming months.
