Frenchie in Covent Garden has closed

Frenchie in Covent Garden has closed

News reaches us today of another high-profile closure - Frenchie in Covent Garden. After eight years, the restaurant has closed its doors, with an announcement on Instagram by owners Greg and Marie Marchand:

"I am saddened to announce that after eight wonderful years, we have decided to close Frenchie Covent Garden. This decision has not been made lightly, however as a family-owned restaurant, the last year operating in London has been increasingly challenging and although I wish we could continue, it is time to close our doors and focus on our restaurants in France. We’ve had the best time in this amazing city and I would like to thank our guests, suppliers, landlord, and team who have worked tirelessly to make Frenchie rock - thank you from the bottom of my heart. We hope to see you again soon London."

It's a sad and somewhat sudden end for one of Covent Garden's best places to eat, as replies to the post indicated that some diners were booked in to eat this coming weekend.

It's not the end of Frenchie altogether, though, as they have multiple restaurants in Paris (not to mention Biaritz and Verbier). So unfortunately, if you want more of their amazing bacon scones, you'll have to book a trip on Eurostar.
