Changes are afoot at the Batman-adjacent Park Row restaurant in Soho - where the main space is now becoming The Iceberg Lounge. There was an Iceberg Lounge section of Park Row before, but this was limited to just one of the bars whereas now it'll cover the whole thing (with the exception of the immersive Monarch Theatre).
Delving into the comics and films for just a moment, The Iceberg Lounge is essentially The Penguin's gaff - a nightclub/bar (last seen prominently in The Batman) where the villain tries to show his less criminal side. So in some ways, it makes much more sense for the whole thing to be based around that.
With that change comes a brand new menu. Led by Executive Chef Raymond Steplin (ex Dinings SW3) the new offering is a modern Japanese menu, meaning everything from sushi and sashimi through to kushiyaki skewers, tempura, gyoza and bao alongside miso black cod and Wagyu steaks. You'll still get the odd allusions to the comic/film characters with dishes like "‘Why So Serious!’ Gyoza Roulette" and the popular frozen "Kiss from a Rose" dessert remains on the menu too.
Alongside the main restaurant, the bars are now split into a Champagne bar and a caviar and oyster bar, plus a roving martini trolley is also promised. It's a massive restaurant and well worth at least checking the space out. So if you haven't done so yet, now might be the time to pop in for some oysters and cocktails.
