French Brasserie 65a lands in Spitalfields

French Brasserie 65a lands in Spitalfields

A new brasserie is coming to Spitalfields in the shape of 65a. It comes from Irish-born entrepreneur, Patrick Frawley, who's launching the restaurant after 30 years in hospitality. He's joined by Executive Chef Maura Baxter, recently at Clapham’s The Saxon and The Gun in Spitalfields.

At 65a, they're going the classic French brasserie route, which means dishes like:

  • French onion soup
  • Hand-dived coquilles St Jacques
  • Fillet steak with Café de Paris butter

Alongside those, expect whole grilled lobster and rotisserie chicken. It's taking over the space that was Coqbull restaurant and, before that, Blixen. So it's a big old space with plenty of outside (and covered) seating in the market.
