Quality Chop's mince on dripping toast provoked not so much a storm as a mild weather system when US food site Eater described the dish as a 'quintessential British comfort classic'. Cue a few weeks of social media outrage about whether it was or not, which can only have bolstered the restaurant's bookings.
Five years on, the dish is now an irregular signature of the Farringdon restaurant, returning to the menu from time to time. But for the next two weeks, it'll be on their great value set lunch menu making it the perfect time to try it if you haven't already.
Sure, it may have been planned in before we knew that London temperatures were going to rocket again for a week's worth of Indian summer but as they've paired it with a starter of vichyssoise and a custard slice for dessert, it sounds unmissable particularly when you factor in the £29 price tag.
