The huge new gallery opening RH England at Aynho Park in Oxfordshire has, in one fell swoop, brought five new restaurants to the Cotswolds.
Set over a 73-acre estate, it's really quite the undertaking. On an estate that includes an architecture and design library, a Sir John Soane exhibition and gardens by Capability Brown, the five new restaurants include:
The Orangery - This is the signature restaurant that's all about live-fire cooking with dishes including a Devon White rotisserie chicken or a whole branzino (aka seabass). And if that's just not out-there enough for you, there's also a wood-grilled avocado with 15 grams of Petrossian Imperial Kaluga Caviar. It's all set in a room surrounded by huge windows and has an impressive lighting installation by master glass designer Alison Berger.
The Loggia - this was apparently once the servants’ quarters and is now an open-air restaurant and wine bar offering wood-fired pizzas, charcuterie boards and rustic sharing plates.
The Tea Salon - This used to be the main dining room and will be the afternoon tea destination.
The Wine Lounge - once the French drawing room, they'll be serving fine wines from around the globe in front of a 19th-century Louis XV-style fireplace
The Juicery - This was the building's main kitchen, and will keep its original limestone floors. Here, it's all about freshly made juices, coffee, grilled baguettes and more on communal farmhouse-style tables.
The last two on that list encourage you to take your drinks around the property, so if you fancy roaming gardens and galleries with a glass of wine in hand, this is the place for you.
