El Pollote are bringing their Latino fried chicken to Carnaby

el pollote opening in carnaby

You'll probably know them from various Kerb markets, including Seven Dials, but now the Venezuelan team behind El Pollote are getting ready to open their first standalone restaurant. They'll be opening up in the heart of Carnaby on Ganton Street in a space big enough for 40 diners which will also have room for a small terrace too.

If you haven't had the pleasure, El Pollote has built up a reputation for using the best of British produce and infusing that with South American flavours. Their Latino fried chicken is the signature dish with sauces including Guava Glaze and Habanero Mayo and Queso Fresco. They're also previous winners of Wingfest, so they're pretty good at what they do.

To go with all that fried chicken - in wings, burgers and tenders form - they're planning a range of small plates and sides like yuca fries, arepas de chicharrón and the double carbing joy of Maria de Noche which features rice, plantain and fried egg.

For dessert they've upped the game moving from Tres Leches to a Cinco Leches cake alongside churros.

If you fancy keeping the party going there's also going to be a basement cocktail bar here serving up a range of Latino-inspired cocktails and craft beers.
