After a bit of a fright last year, the future of one of Islington's best pubs, the Compton Arms looks bright. And now they're getting ready to launch an all-new residency.
Taking over the kitchens will be Tiella, run by chef Dara Klein. She was last seen at Sager + Wilde as sous chef, with experience at Trullo and Brawn under her belt. The brand-new residency will be all about traditional, rustic Italian food. The menu features:
- Sage and anchovy fritti
- Scamorza and chilli crostini
- Steamed asparagus, buffalo mozzarella e saffron sauce
- Braised hoggett shoulder and polenta
- Bay leaf panna cotta & blueberries with Fernet Branca
As for fans of Reece Moore's Belly, you have until 7 April to try it at the Compton Arms, and after that it will move to a relatively new pub The Hawke in Hackney (formerly Hector & Noble) with chef James Thorneycroft in charge.
