24/8/23 - updated with the opening date and menu details.
Michelin-rated Peckham wine bar, Peckham Cellars, is expanding. The team behind it - Helen Hall, Luke West-Whylie and Ben McVeigh - have set their sites on a space in nearby Camberwell where they'll be opening a second wine bar, Little Cellars.
If you've already been to the Peckham original, you'll find things much the same at the new Camberwell bar where the wine list will be a mixture of old and new world wines served by the glass paired with a bar snack menu that won the original bar a Michelin Bib Gourmand.
In charge of the kitchen is ex Terroirs chef Ollie Lawrance and he'll have a changing menu that will start with:
- Confit chicken Leg, coco beans & girolles
- Caillettes, carrots & sour plum
- Courgettes Provençal & truffled polenta
- Poached trout, artichoke & seaweed beurre blanc
They'll also have Saturday Special sandwiches, like an aubergine schnitz, house slaw & pesto, which will change every weekend
There will be room for 40 Camberwell oenophiles to sit and sip, both indoors and on a decent-sized terrace. Next door to the bar the team will open the Cellar Next Door bottle shop which will also have a basement tasting room for events.
