It's been almost eight years since Sketch got its David Shrigley redesign and now the restaurant has had another complete overhaul.
Shrigley and the pink decor have gone, and British-Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare and architect India Mahdavi have taken over. This time the whole restaurant has been given a sunshine yellow makeover and as for the artwork adorning the restaurant, those are "five hand-painted masks carved from wood and 10 framed quilts that replicate African masks found in Pablo Picasso’s collection".
Part of the redesign includes a completely new look for all the banquettes, new wall lights by Inès Bressand, who works with weavers in Ghana and even new tableware designed by Shonibare.
No news of any change to the menu and just in case you really want to see how much things have changed, there will be a model of the Gallery in its pink days so you can compare it with the real thing. Here's that original design:
