If you like to be the one in your group who always knows where the hot new bar is, then you should have Umbrella Workshop, which has just opened its doors in Shoreditch, on your radar.
The tiny bar - there are just 12 seats - is from the team who run The Sun Tavern and Discount Suit Company and it's attached to their cocktail shop The Umbrella Project. So you can try anything they sell in the shop and - if you don't mind being experimented on - this is where they'll try out new cocktails for their other bars.
Visitors to Umbrella Workshop will be treated to a weekly (sometimes daily) changing menu. Currently on the board is a twist on retro ice-cream favourite the Solero, made from mango liqueur topped by a swirl of spiced coconut cream which is whipped into an appetising snowy peak. They're also selling spirits and wines from independent producersand promising "delicious snacks to keep you sated while you're seated".
