We're quietly excited about the upcoming all day restaurant that's part of The Twenty Two opening on Grosvenor Square. There hasn't been a lot revealed so far but it does see a reunion on two chefs that last worked together at the much-loved Picture.
Alan Christie has taken the role of Executive chef while his former partner Colin Kelly will be Head Chef of the restaurant at this Mayfair spot. Given that the hotel's MD, Darius Namdar, helped launch Chiltern Firehouse, there should be a lot of buzz surrounding this new place.
The all day restaurant will serve up a modern British menu. In an interview with Boutique Hotelier, Namdar says: "It is a highly seasonal offering, so by the time we are opening, we'll be seeing more of the spring dishes come into play. The best way to describe the menu is a minimal number of ingredients on the plate which are the highest quality that we can find from as close to the hotel as possible. There will be things like pumpkin soup, lots of risottos and large, great, leafy, seasonal salads. Lots of great seafood and shellfish too, but overall very highly seasonal.”
For drinks expect a range of in-house spirits along with a lot biodynamic, organic and vegan wines.
