Dalston Junction is becoming quite the oenophiles dream destination with the addition of yet another interesting-sounding wine bar. Joining the likes of Weino Bib and Newcomer Wines is dan's, a self-styled "free-flowing wine bar and shop".
The man behind it is Dan Long from the online natural wine merchant Natty Boy Wines. But the bar is actually named after the Australian booze merchant Dan Murphy's.
Dan's background is via the Australian wine route, having worked there selling fine wines and working at popular Sydney wine bar Love, Tilly Devine. Chatting to Hot Dinners he told us his new bar, which he's been working on for the past 18 months, "is focussed on relaxed consumption of wines that actually taste good, with a selection of small plates and cheeses on offer."
There will be plenty of options to try wine by the glass and, the real draw is that you can try any of 600+ wines featured on Natty Boy Wines with a £15 corkage fee. There are also plans to run monthly guided tastings.
"Essentially just very good booze, made accessible, in a very relaxed environment," says Dan.
