What: FENN

In a nutshell: British seasonal restaurant for Fulham

Summing it all up: The team behind popular Hackney spot Nest, are expanding to West London with this new seasonal British restaurant on Wandsworth Bridge Road.

The low-down

West London's dining scene is getting an injection of East London cool as the team behind Hackney's NEST get ready to open FENN in Fulham.

Taking over the old Harlequin site on Wandsworth Bridge Road, this seasonal British restaurant will feature Executive Head Chef Johnnie Crowe and Head Chef Joe Laker (late of Farringdon's Anglo) running the kitchen. They'll be using suppliers that they've forged relationships at Nest, including meat from Swaledale Foods and HG Walter, fish from Cornwall's Flying Fish and fresh veg from Flourish Produce in Cambridgeshire.

Expect a heavily British list of ingredients in the menu with dishes like

  • Lincolnshire Poacher cheese and Wiltshire truffle dumplings
  • Hand Dived Scottish Scallop with Chicken Butter Sauce
  • Aged Yorkshire Beef, Parsnip & Pickled Walnut
  • English custard tart.

There will be a terrace for alfresco dining at the front of the restaurant - handy if you want to stop by for a glass of wine and a snack. Downstairs, for a more intimate experience, you'll be able to book out the wine cellar private dining space which seats up to 16 guests (for when that sort of thing is allowed again). Diners here will get a special feasting menu.

It all sounds very convivial and, as co-founder Toby Neill says: “I’m looking forward to opening the doors to FENN and bringing a taste of what we do at NEST to West London."
