Some London restaurants will clearly need more time to prepare for reopening, particularly when so much of their offering includes counter dining which falls way short of even the new 1m plus rule.
But while they work out their plans some, like Mayfair's Sabor, have ploughed ahead with offerings to bring their restaurants to your home instead.
We've been having serious pangs for the dishes from Nieves Barragan Mohacho and Jose Etura's restaurant. And now Sabor en Casa looks to be just the thing to see us through the end of lockdown.
As Nieves explains: “We’ve missed being in our kitchen and behind the bar during this difficult time, and we’ve missed all of our wonderful guests! We are so excited to be back and to be preparing our favourite dishes to be finished and enjoyed by you at home.”
They'll be doing two boxes to go featuring the restaurant's best known dishes. The boxes, like the restaurant itself, are split into Counter and Asador.
The counter box (£58) features:
- Four prawn croquetas
- Tortilla mix
- Gambas al ajillo
- Pulpo a la Gallega
- Presa Iberica, veal jus and mojo verde
- Beetroot salad and horseradish cream
The Asador box (£70) features:
- Four prawn croquetas
- Tortilla mix
- Gambas al ajillo
- Pulpo a la Gallega
- Arroz negro
- Churrasco de cordero (milk-fed lamb ribs) with chimichurri sauce
- Beetroot salad and horseradish cream
To those you can add on a number of extra dishes like their cured presa Iberica, Ensalada Rusa, Pintxo Moruno, crab empanadilla and cheesecake. Then there's some pantry items too like aioli and mojo verde along with everything you might need to make the food at home including a tortilla pan.
If all that wasn't enticing enough, they're also delivering their sangria - perfect for hot sunny days - and a selection of Spanish wines.
