Yesterday the government announced the reopening date for London's restaurants. But it seems that some aren't waiting that long. In town last week we spotted a few restaurants doing 'takeaway' that essentially involved eating at the restaurant's tables outside. And now a restaurant on the King's Road has opened its terrace for dining.
Chicama emailed its customers last week to say they were reopening "for take aways, delivery and terrace dining" on 22 June. Since then they've been open for takeaways which they're allowing customers to eat on their terrace.
On offer is a truncated menu of ceviche, starters like their tapioca marshmallow with ocopa sauce and poke bowls, along with some dishes that are terrace-dining only like the grilled prawns with toasted almonds and a yuzu kosho dressing.
One local Instagrammer said "Chicama - the perfect Peruvian spot in the Kings Rd is now open.. well sort of...you can have lunch on the terrace.. I had a Sea Bass Cerviche - paper plates & plastic cutlery @ the moment."
The restaurant is currently walk-ins only and they say "strict measures are in place to deter infection and thorough sanitisation practices have always been and will always continue to be something that we pay extreme attention to."
