When Wander in Stoke Newington closed at the beginning of the lockdown, there was some worry that it wouldn't return. But now it's back in its new delivery-only guise, with two new meal kits that look well worth your time.
The first is the Wander Banquet. That's five dishes of the kind previously served in Wander, with just a little finishing at home. To give you an idea, this week's meal includes:
- Prosciutto with peach, hazelnut and mint
- Ricotta with elderflower and honey
- Spaghetti with Palourde clams, fermented peppers and coriander
- Gurnard cooked in paper, w tomato green olive and basil
- Strawberry and Sichuan pepper pavlova
That's £50 for two people - and there are suggested wine pairings too. It's available for pick up from Friday - Sunday.
There's another kit with is a team-up with Shaun Henerson seafood - with three dishes designed around the kind of seafood available at Wander. Those are £50 including matched wines. The first week has already sold out - but a new kit is available every Tuesday and Friday.
All in all, it's an impressive offering and another example of how London's restaurants are adapting to an extremely challenging situation.
