Rye by the Water returns to Brentford - and Darby's is delivering

Another much-appreciated local bakery-cafe has reopened for business. This time it's the turn of Rye by the Water in Brentford, which is backed by The Dairy's Robin Gill and Dan Joines. Back in the bakery is head baker Janine Edwards and she's currently baking croissants, pain au chocolates, olive and gruyere bread twists and - of course - sourdough bread.

Like many other bakeries and cafes, they've also switched to selling produce, and theirs comes from the much-lauded Natoora. Alongside which, you'll find milk, cheese, specialist tinned and bottled goods and a small selection of wines.

And if you're a vermouth fan, the group's vermouth distillery is now on-site, so you'll be able to pick up all manner of crafted booze.

In more news from the same group, the Darby's hatch is closed again - but they now have a full delivery service in action. Head over to their online shop where you can pick up such delights as truffled Baron Bigod (!), fresh pastas and sauces, bread, charcuterie, baked cassoulet and more.
