They sprang to instant fame when they created the wedding cake for Harry and Meghan and now Violet are about to open a new wine bar in Hackney - tentatively called Violet Corner (after The Corner building that it's in) - according to Eater.
It's almost 10 years since the original Violet was opened in London Fields by Claire Ptak, and the new opening promises to be a much bigger space (they'll also be moving most of their cake making there). It'll seat around 75 people across the ground floor and basement and be an all-day cafe and wine bar. So expect quiches, toasties and salads, small plates and snacks - they're not trying to be a restaurant. But there will be lots of cakes, obviously.
As for the wine, there will be an emphasis on natural wine - but not exclusively if that's not your thing - as well as cocktails that include their violet-hued Aviation. That's gin, maraschino liqueur, crème de violette, and lemon juice.
It's all some way off though - as it's not due to open until 2020. We'll have much more news closer to the opening date.
