We do quite love Le Bun burgers so it's very good indeed to hear about their return to London. While it was possible to eat Le Bun burgers at the sadly departed Carte Blanche in London Fields, this will be a proper return for the French/American-inspired burgers by Andy Taylor.
This time, they're in residency at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane for a four-week pop-up. The classic Le Truffle Double Double burger will be making a return, as will the Truffle Cheeseburger. But alongside those will be a couple of brand new editions.
First up is the Truffle Honey Bacon burger - that's truffle honey bacon, truffle mayo & confit onions in burnt butter (their first bacon burger). Then there's the Le Royale Cheeseburger - based on the legendary In-N-Out - "Everything I love about a West Coast cheeseburger but our way with aged beef patty, bone marrow burger sauce, smoked pickles, confit beef fat onions, good old American cheese & demi brioche". So yes, both of those sound epic.
On top of that, there will be rotating specials (the excellent Le Bourguignon Bun will be making a comeback) and there will be fries and truffle mayo on the side. So that's a LOT of truffle. If you haven't yet tried a Le Bun burger, you definitely need to put this pop-up on your to-do list.
