In a city with thousands of bars it's actually really hard to make your drinks stand out, but we've been rather tickled by the latest wheeze from riverside restaurant Skylon. The bar there has just brought out a new cocktail menu called Cloud 9 and they've given the bar a sky-high makeover to match.
To go with the drinks featuring Laurent Perrier and all featuring cloud-like concoctions, the bar has suspended illuminated clouds from the ceiling, filled the space with rose gold hot air balloons and sun spheres and lanterns. There's even going to be a themed dessert - a bitter almond cake with cassis consommé served beneath a cloud.
As for the cocktails, you can choose between (or have all three):
- Cotton Cloud, served in a champagne coupe with a pink cotton candy ball
- Lucid Dream comes under a glass dome bell jar with a floral aroma
- Up & Away made with orange bitters, Mandarin Napoleon and Laurent-Perrier La Cuvée is finished with a sugar nest.
