What: L&G Camden
In a nutshell: Former Camden Road toilets become underground cocktail bar
Summing it all up: Kentish Town's award-winning bar Ladies and Gentlemen have opened their second cocktail spot, taking over the former public loos outside Camden Road station.
Even the folk at Kentish Town public lavatory turned award-winning cocktail bar couldn't resist toilet humour when it comes to the opening of their new place. In an Instagram post announcing that they'll be opening in the old Victorian WC on the corner of Camden Road and Royal College Street, they said: "yes it’s our number two."
Lavatorial jokes aside, the bar's opening today is good news for anyone who lives in the area or commutes home through nearby Camden Road station. According to them, it will now be "be serving award-winning cocktails and good times". Behind the bar, which is owned by William Borrell who is also the founder of Vestal Vodka, you'll find top bartender Josh Powell at the helm fresh from several victorious cocktail competitions.
Like the original, this is also a pretty small space - there'll be room for just 45 folk inside with a mix of high top and cosy table seating.
On the launch drinks list you'll find the following drinks:
- Doctor’s Orders - £10: Sea-Moss Crabbie 8yr Scotch, Ginger Wine, Ardbeg 10yr Peated Whisky, Citric Acid Blend, Bitters, Vegan Foamer.
- Asterix – £10: Vestal Crafted Potato Vodka, Tomato Vermouth, Sour Cucumber, Sekforde Botanical Mixer.
- Kentucky Rose – £10: Woodford Reserve Bourbon Whiskey, Peppered Fino Sherry, Rose Water, Bitters.
- Sallows - £7: Willow Low ABV Spirit, Sustainable Shrub, Vegan Foamer, Ginger Ale.
