What: Bread Ahead
In a nutshell: Baked goods galore
Summing it all up:There’s no stopping Borough Market bakers Bread Ahead, who continue to pop up all over London with their sourdoughs, doughnuts and hot, comforting breakfasts.
The low-down
Bread Ahead are well aware that contrary to popular diet trends, January really is a time for carbs, which is why we’re very glad to hear they’ll be opening another bakery and cafe, this time on Soho's Beak Street.
It’ll looks like it'll be a cosy place to settle in and work, grab a hot breakfast on your way in - they’ll be open from 7am - or just grab something gloriously carby to take with you as you battle the elements. Some of your morning options will include brioche French toast with bacon and syrup, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on demi-brioche and if you *are* doing the whole January diet thing, a build-your-own porridge menu featuring cashew butter, quinoa and chia seeds. Personally, we’re more into the sound of a buttery, cheesy Croque Monsieur now it’s properly cold out.
There’ll also be sourdough loaves, amaretti, kouign aman as well as an extensive lunchtime sarnie menu plus, naturally, all their excellent doughnuts.
But if all of this sounds like too many calories to deal with, you'll be happy to hear that their Soho spot will be the first to serve up salads to eat in or takeaway.
