Balans is back in business

Earlier this summer, it looked as though a longstanding part of Soho society was about to become another victim of the lockdown. Balans - a part of Soho since 1987, and a particular favourite of the area's LGBT community, put all of its restaurant sites on the market.

The announcement was met with horror by its fans, many of which counted on somewhere like Balans to be open in the wee small hours…

Dishoom launches new kitchens to deliver across London

As restaurants re-open, there's always the possibility that some of the delivery services we've come to enjoy will actually start to close. That's because running a full restaurant and a delivery service concurrently is quite the effort - particularly when a lot of focus needs to be on the people dining-in.

But if you've been worried that Dishoom's new deliveries will stop then worry no more. The…

Indian Alley is coming to Camden Market, courtesy of Benares

We've already had Italian Alley as well as Asian Alley and now Camden Market is launching the next in the series - Indian Alley.

This time it's from the same people behind Mayfair's Benares (see our recent Benares delivery Test Drive), but other than the name, little is known about the project at this point. We do know that the menu will be a street-food concept and led by B…

Tottenham Hale club The Cause launches the Costa del Tottenham

With nightclubs the businesses most affected by the Covid shutdown (and the last to come out of it), it's unsurprising that some have found other ways to make money in the meantime.

Up in Tottenham, The Cause nightclub has done a deal to double the outside space it has, and they're planning to make the most of it over the summer. The club has taken over some of the neighbouring industrial units a…
