One of London's institutions closed down for a huge revamp earlier this month. The Wolseley took January off to give itself a considerable spruce up for its tenth anniversary.
Now we've found out a little more about what the changes have actually entailed. Essentially it's a lot of work to do with the structure of the restaurant with the bulk of the work refitting the basement and also the kitchen.
However, the dining room is getting a fair bit of attention too. Expect more marble, refurbished furniture and chandeliers, but all done so as to retain that fabulous patina of 'it's been here forever' that the Wolseley does so well.
The Wolseley re-opens for dinner on Wednesday 29th January at its usual address of 160 Piccadilly, London W1J 9EB
