Salvador and Amanda open new tapas bar in Bloomsbury

salvador[Updated 22/11/12 with soft launch offer details]

There's always room for another Spanish place to eat in London as far as we're concerned. So we welcomed the news of a new tapas joint in Bloomsbury with open arms.

Salvador and Amanda Bloomsbury is the latest opening from the people behind The Social and Jerusalem and is the second branch (the original is in Newport Street, Soho). Consulting executive chef Ruben Dario Estrella (Salt Yard, Opera Tavern) has worked on the menu which is split between casual tapas on the ground floor and more intimate dining upstairs. Expect to see Padrón peppers, Gambas al Ajillo and croquettas on the bar menu and Galician-style monkfish with chickpeas and Serrano broth or Confit pork belly with pumpkin puree, wilted spinach and membrillo upstairs.

There's also an extensive Spanish-themed drinks menu to wash it all down with and the bar features a working fireplace - so it's the perfect spot to hunker down in on a cold winter's night.

Salvador and Amanda Bloomsbury is now open at 1 Vernon Place, London WC1A 2EP and is offering their subscribers (and Hot Dinners readers) 50% off food at lunch and dinner until 1 December. To book call 0207 637 2960.
