One of Mayfair St James’ finest dining establishments is getting a refresh this autumn – except this is far more than a new lick of paint.
Quaglino’s, the iconic restaurant and late-night venue, is undergoing a full-scale renovation under the direction of D&D London.
What you need to know about Quaglino’s
The restaurant first opened its doors in 1929, with Giovanni Quaglino at the helm. In the 1980s, it was remodeled by celebrated interior designer Terence Conran. 85 years later, Quaglino’s is still one of London’s most cherished dining destinations.
The restaurant has kept its signature art deco accents and the sweeping staircase. Russell Sage Studios (also behind Grain Store, Social Eating House, Dishoom and the Zetter Town House) has restored the balcony bar, main restaurant and private dining rooms while adding a cocktail bar and stage for intimate performances
The contemporary European menu will feature a fusion of high-quality British ingredients and exotic spices from northern Africa. Think Slow-cooked Pyrenean lamb shoulder with spiced spinach, Marcona almonds, parsley and goat’s curd and Pan-fried south coast cod with artichoke puree and a vegetable and saffron cassoulet to name but a few.
In keeping with Quaglino’s heritage, classic and champagne cocktails will abound, supplemented by a 300-strong wine list to ensure all tastes are satisfied.
