Don't bother coming for lunch - it's only open for dinner Monday to Saturday.

If you like DIY menus you're in the right place - the menu here will consist of small plates with a very British flavour - so Battered Fish and Chips, Welsh Rarebit, and Jam Roly Poly alongside Crispy Cider Braised Pig Cheeks with Apple and Fennel sauce, Cornish Scallops Buerre Blanc & Crispy Black Pudding and Deep Fried Popcorn Cockles.

The drinks list has an Olde English feel - expect to try barrel aged gin, Highgate Negronis and gimlets

You'll have to ring for entry - then you'll enter through the hidden hatch to be seated at the bar, lounge or one of the five personal cloisters.

Owners Maria and Costas Constantinou are Soho stalwarts - they also run The Arts Theatre Club on Frith Street

Old Tom & English will open this November at 187b Wardour Street, W1F 8ZB. Telephone 020 7287 7347. Opening hourse are Monday to Saturday 5.30pm – 11.30pm
