She’s worked with Gordon Ramsay and endured the challenges of Iron Chef, now Judy Joo is taking on the kitchens at the new Playboy Club in London. The club’s member-only restaurant, called The Dining Room, will be fine dining and designed by Jestico and Whiles who were responsible for Hakkasan.
‘My goal is to create a unique gastronomic experience that complements the club,' said Judy, adding that she’s confident of creating ‘the ultimate restaurant destination in the capital.’
Joo made a name for herself when she took on the 2010 Iron Chef challenge, battling against Martin Blunos, Sanjay Dwivedi and Tom Aikens on the TV show.
As news of her appointment broke, Joo took to Twitter to say that while she’d definitely consider adding a Bunny Burger to the menu, that’s as far as she’d go with the Playboy branding. ‘No bunny costume for me. I'm not in my 20's anymore.’
Joo is the second big name to be lured to the Playboy Club since cocktail maestro Salvatore Calabrase announced he'll be opening a ground-floor members' bar there.
