It's the time of year where the recent trend for bushy beards (honestly - has there been some sort of East London directive?) gives way to the onset of manly 'taches. The Movember charity (set up to raise awareness of prostate and other cancers that specifically affect men) is a popular event on the foodie calendar and there are loads of opportunities to take part this year. Here's a brief round up:
Byron
Byron are known for their monthly special burgers and this month is very special indeed. Together with celeb chef Gizzi Erkskine, they're creating the Gizz-mo Burger - a cheeseburger with Welsh Rarebit topping (made from mature Cheddar, smoked Cheddar, English mustard, Guinness and Worstershire sauce).
The Devonshire Arms
The Devonshire Arms and Spitfire Ale have teamed up this Movember to donate £1 of every ‘Spitfire pie and a pint’ to the Movember charity to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer.
Moma
Every day, MOMA are supporting Movember by donating money from every Wild Berry breakfast sold throughout November. And they’re also giving away breakfasts to the people that upload the best moustaches.
The Oxo Tower Brasserie
The brasserie will be serving a special meal using ingredients proven to reduce men’s chances of developing prostate cancer. They'll also be donating month from their Mo’jitos served in the bar and also from mo’jito truffles.
Park Plaza
The Park Plaza in Waterloo will also be selling a Movember Mojito which comes complete with its own mini moustache - priced at £7.95 each, with £4 from each cocktail going to the charity.
