Chef Sebby Holmes has been the owner of rave-reviewed Thai restaurant Farang in Highbury since 2017. Most recently he's also launched his own range of curry pastes, dipping sauces and stir fry sauces called Payst, all of which is made by the chefs at his Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. As a resident of Enfield, he agreed to share his favourite local food and drink spots with Hot Dinners readers.
The Rose & Crown
185 Clay Hill, Enfield EN2 9AJ
Brilliant pub, right next to Whitewebbs country park. I’ve been here many times and they do a cracking roast dinner on a Sunday, with a great outside area for the summer. It’s also dog-friendly and cosy in the winter.
Arte Pizza
129 Chase Side, Enfield EN2 6NN
The team at Arte make handmade pizzas and pasta and stand out as some of the best Italian food in the area. I regularly order the Modenese pizza, with pumpkin cream, mozzarella, smoked pancetta, parmesan and balsamic dressing. It’s always banging.
Hopper & Bean
4 The Grn, London N21 1AY
An independent, family-run café serving the best speciality coffee, loose-leaf tea, cakes and a unique brunch menu in Winchmore Hill. I’m not a vegetarian but I would strongly recommend trying their vegan sausage rolls with their excellent coffee, sat out in the sun.
Cicero Delicatessen
748 Hertford Rd, Enfield EN3 6PR
Their mission is to open up the world of Italian food to anyone, no matter where you live in the UK, so that you can shop the most authentic Italian products at affordable prices. An amazing shop to check out, make sure to have a look at their awesome range of Italian meats and cheeses.
Limes Café
884 Green Lanes, London N21 2RS
After a crazy week at Farang, nothing helps to wind down better than a dog walk around Grovelands Park and then a full English with a coffee at Limes on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
