Updated 14/9/25 with official statement
Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters spent the weekend tackling a fire at White City, which affected the Michelin-starred restaurant Endo at the Rotunda.
A statement issued by the London Fire Brigade on Saturday morning said: "As of 0800 hrs, a restaurant, external decking and ducting remains alight...the cause of the fire is unknown at this time." It took the best part of a day to bring the blaze under control, but luckily, there was only one person who needed medical attention.
It's particularly heart-breaking news as Endo at the Rotunda had only been open for less than a year after having undergone a major refurbishment. The highly-rated restaurant sits on top of the Helios Building which is part of the old BBC Television Studios in West London.
Our team is absolutely heartbroken by what has happened," said the restaurant in a post on Instagram, confirming that "The Rotunda will remain closed until further notice while we carefully navigate the path ahead."
"We are profoundly grateful to the London Fire Brigade for their swift and courageous response," they added. "Most importantly, we are relieved and thankful that everyone is safe."
Given that it was already one of the hardest places to get a booking in London, this is definitely not going to make things any easier.
