It's the kind of bullying that wouldn't be countenanced for a moment in today's professional kitchens. But the moment when Gordon Ramsay put two slices of bread either side of Julie Chen's face in a Late Late Show sketch and called her an idiot sandwich has now become an iconic television moment.
Now that moment has inspired both a YouTube series of its own and a real life sandwich which you can try at Ramsay's Bread Street Kitchens. The YouTube series is now live, with each episode featuring three contestants competing to have their sandwich judged by the chef in an attempt to win the title of Idiot Sandwich.
As for the sandwich, that's stuffed with braised short rib, melted cheddar, confit mushrooms and spiced tomato chutney. Although some might say you're the idiot if you pay £26 for a sandwich, which is how much this costs. There's also an Idiot burger and Idiot pizza on offer too with those same ingredients. All are on offer for a limited period only.
