Ever since it opened in the weeks before Christmas, we've been waiting to hear when bouji new deli, Farm Shop Mayfair, was going to open its wine bar.
The good news for Mayfair-based oenophiles (who aren't doing Dry January) is that the day has arrived. The wine bar can be found underneath the shop by ArtFarm, who also own Mount St Restaurant and The Audley just up the road. It's actually a much larger space than we were expecting and, thanks to a lightwell, is much brighter than you'd think a basement wine bar would be.
They set out their stall as offering a mix of classics and exploratory wines that you can either buy to take away or enjoy in. And with a glass of wine starting as low as £5.50, which is a veritable bargain for Mayfair, we think it'll be a hit.
There's a food offering too - mainly cheese and charcuterie boards with the cheese being a mix of those from the West Country where ArtFarm originates, and Switzerland. Other options include a ploughman's board with Scotch egg and steak tartare with sourdough toast.
