Whyte Rushen goes permanent with Whyte's restaurant in Hackney

Whyte Rushen goes permanent in Hackney

Updated 4/12/23 with opening date

Whyte Rushen, once chef at top places like Brat, Scully and Kerridge's, has been running sell-out pop-ups up all over town, teaming up with places as varied as Quo Vadis and Jollibee but now he's settling down in Hackney.

It's early days on what to expect from the place and his cooking so far has been extremely varied. A taste of what's been at his pop-ups includes:

  • Oysters topped with pickled onion Monster Munch
  • Braised rabbit pizza as well as rabbit sausage sesame toast
  • Sweet and sour prawn toast pork cutlet sando
  • Flambé Basque cheesecake, crème fraiche, poached fruit and Crunchies

He's also got a very good reputation for his smashed burgers. So it all makes him a talent definitely worth watching out for. You'll find the restaurant in the Monohaus development on Mare Street.
