Iné is a new Japanese (and omakase) restaurant in Hampstead from the Taku team

14/12/23 - Updated with the opening date

Can London have too many omakase restaurants? It appears not, as the people behind Taku in Mayfair are getting ready to open a restaurant with its own omakase counter in Hampstead (taking over what used to be Goldfish).

Iné will have an eight-seater omakase counter alongside booth seating if you want to pop in for something shorter than 15 courses. In the main part of the restaurant,  what's being billed as a contemporary Japanese menu with French influences is being served up. That includes:

  • Lobster with cauliflower and sudachi jelly
  • Grilled Iberico pork
  • Wagyu beef katsu sando
  • Grilled Yuan chicken

That omakase menu will then be offered alongside a full sushi and sashimi menu. The omakase option is £100 for 15 courses (which is actually on the mid-priced side for omakase). Opening in north London is a big shift from Mayfair, so it'll be interesting to see how it performs up there.
