We do like a theme. And with the news that 42 Holborn, a new restaurant coming to that very address, is also a little bit fond of the number 42 (there are 42 items on the menu) gives us quiet satisfaction.
In a Grade-II-listed building designed by architect Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens no less, 42 Holborn is bringing a Mediterranean-inspired menu to what will be an all-day dining concept and event space that’s convenient to both Covent Garden and London’s theatre district.
Executive chef Erdal Atas is in charge of the menu - they're aiming to make it a handy spot for either a quick bite or a business lunch. Some highlights on the menu include:
- Tuscan chicken
- Spanish lentil stew
- Grilled lamb shops with truffled potato
There’ll be a gigantic deep-blue bar for pre-dinner cocktails and mocktails with floor-to-ceiling bottles. It also sounds like a good party choice, with several private dining rooms. Or just slip into one of the leather banquettes or chairs to dine while admiring the free-hand artworks and murals on display.
